Occupational Therapy Open Day
West Sussex Primary Care Trust is running an open day on 22nd May 2009, 9:30 - 12:00 at Southlands Hospital in Shoreham. There will be presentations from Occupational Therapists working in a variety of settings and Brighton University will talk about the MSc OT course they offer. Women in Social Enterprise: Free course
The Friends Centre in Brighton is running a free accredited course designed to help women set up a social enterprise. The course runs for four weeks, twice a week from 1st June 2009. Funding for childcare is available. To find out more there is a launch event at The Werks, 45 Church Road, Hove, 10.00am – 12.30pm on 21st May. Study in New Zealand
Commonwealth Scholarships for Postgraduate study are available for UK citizens wishing to study a Masters or PhD in New Zealand. Cactus TEFL Taster Day
For those interested in TEFL as a career Cactus are running an evening of activities on 14th May 2009 at Jubilee Library in central Brighton. The event runs from 18:30 and includes information on TEFL jobs, about employment in different parts of the world, how to find jobs and what is expected of you as a TEFL teacher. Tickets cost £5 and can be booked online
Society of Young Publishers at London Bookfair
'Getting Ahead in Publishing' is a seminar held by the Society of Young Publishers on Monday 20th April 2009 at the London Book Fair. It will be especially useful for students and new entrants to publishing and last year's event had a very strong turn out. Sussex Diversity Festival
CDEC is taking part in this year's diversity festival at Sussex taking place 28th April - 1st May 2009 at a number of venues on campus. CDEC will be holding a CV workshop for mature students and Career planning for International Students. Other events include films, readings, performance and a world barbecue. Study for a Film Masters in the USA
The Fulbright Commission and the UK Film Council's Award is now open for applications to study in the US in the 2010/11 academic year. The grant is for the US dollar equivalent of £20,000 and is open to UK citizens from an under-represented background to study a Master's degree in Film Directing, Screenplay, Production, Cinematography, Scoring/Composition or Film Business at any accredited US institution. More information can be found from Skillset and Fulbright and the deadline is 31st May 2009.

ThreeWeeks Brighton
ThreeWeeks, the Brighton Festival newspaper is recruiting a review team of students. Following a special journalism training day on 26th April 2009, they will then get to review shows at the festival in May, all the tickets will be arranged by ThreeWeeks. Participating students get personal feedback, the chance to see their work edited for publication, and to see their reviews published by one of the most respected media at the Brighton Festival. There is more information about the programme and application forms here and the deadline is Friday 17th April 2009
