ThisAbility Event for Disabled Students

Scope is holding a free event on 18th November 2009 for students who are interested in finding out more about working in the Investment Banking industry. To be eligible you must be a disabled first or penultimate year undergraduate. The event takes place in central London and travel expenses are offered for students coming from outside the M25.

The day includes interactive industry-focused sessions, networking with representatives from the banking industry, guest speakers and discussion forums. Students can apply to attend by sending a copy of their CV alongside a completed additional statement found on the Scope
website where there is also more information about the event.

Gradcracker Summer Survey

Rate Your Postgrad Course and Win a Dell Netbook

Target Courses are running a weekly prize draw to win some great prizes. This week, it's a Dell netbook computer worth over £200. If you are studying or have completed a postgraduate course in the UK, complete the survey to tell them what you think of your course and university.

The information will be used to help prospective students choose the right course and university based on the views of current and previous students. All responses are anonymous and it shouldn't take more than five minutes to complete. Take the survey

CDEC Closure During Graduation

The Career Development and Employment Centre will be closed between Wednesday 22nd and Friday 24th July 2009 because we will be attending graduation at the Dome.

Take part in Channel 4 documentary

Channel 4 will be filming and interviewing at the next Benedix City Professional Workshop held on Saturday 25th July 2009. Channel 4 is looking for interesting candidates to follow in their quest for a career in Banking and Finance. Those selected will also receive a mentoring scheme to make sure they are successful in their career hunt.

Projects Abroad Information Evening

Projects Abroad is running an information evening at BHASVIC, Dyke Road on Monday 3rd August 2009, 6-8pm. It will give you the chance to talk to ex-volunteers about their experiences abroad. Check out their website for more information

The Source Event Careers Fair

Naturejobs.com and Ya-Ya Events are running The Source Event in London on 25th September 2009. It is a specialist career fair and conference for scientists from bench to business and covers academic streams and non-traditional science careers. The event is also being held in Berlin. Shell LiveWIRE Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award

Shell have opened the competition for their LiveWIRE Young entrepreneur of the Year Award. The award offers budding entrepreneurs aged 16-30 the opportunity to stand out from the crowd and receive a cash injection of £10,000. GraduateOn Scheme

GraduateOn is a support package for graduates looking to live or work in West Sussex running until September 2010. The programme consists of a two day intensive careers coaching course plus appropriate placements (both paid and un-paid) together with ongoing careers support.

Legal Careers Evening

If you are interested in law but are still to choose where, or even what, to study this September, don't panic. The City Law School are still taking late applications for September 09 entry on the BVC, LPC, GDL and GE LLB and is holding a legal careers open evening on Wednesday 8th July 2009 from 5.15pm at the Atkin Building, Gray's Inn. The Legal Careers Open Evening offers information on courses, entry requirements and fees, application and selection process and legal careers in general.
