PGCEs at Sussex
We've been informed by the School of Education that there are still some places left on the Maths, Science and Modern Foreign Languages PGCEs at Sussex. Apply now via the GTTR website or come along to one of the teacher recruitment events. The first is on Saturday 22 May 2010 10-12am in the Russell Building on campus, and there's another on Wednesday 26 May 2010 at Jury's Inn, Brighton 6-8pm.

University of Brighton Teacher Recruitment Fair
This year's Teacher Recruitment Fair will be on Wednesday 25 November from 3.30 - 6 pm in the new Asa Briggs Hall (C122 Checkland Building) on the Falmer campus of the University of Brighton.
Exhibitors include: East Sussex, West Sussex, Brighton & Hove, Essex, Hertfordshire,
Kent, Medway, Surrey, Croydon, South London Group and the Catholic Schools Service.
Also Edexcel will be there to recruit PGCE students to work during the summer.
University of Sussex teaching students will be welcome to attend.

Teaching Taster Course
The School of Education and Social Work at the University of Sussex is running a taster course for students interested in going on to study a PGCE. The course includes spending three to five days at a local Secondary School gaining valuable experience with teachers and pupils and begins on Monday 23rd November 2009 with an introduction to the profession and the secondary school curriculum. Applicants need to be interested in teaching Maths, Science, RE, Music, Design and Technology, ICT or Modern Foreign Languages in Secondary Schools and should be eligible to apply for teacher training within one year of attending the course. Cactus TEFL Taster Day
For those interested in TEFL as a career Cactus are running an evening of activities on 14th May 2009 at Jubilee Library in central Brighton. The event runs from 18:30 and includes information on TEFL jobs, about employment in different parts of the world, how to find jobs and what is expected of you as a TEFL teacher. Tickets cost £5 and can be booked online

Train to Teach at Brighton
The University of Brighton are holding a Train to Teach open evening on Wednesday 11th February from 4.30 - 7pm at Mayfield House on their Falmer Campus. Details of which courses are being covered and a booking form can be found online
