Occupational Therapy Open Day

West Sussex Primary Care Trust is running an open day on 22nd May 2009, 9:30 - 12:00 at Southlands Hospital in Shoreham. There will be presentations from Occupational Therapists working in a variety of settings and Brighton University will talk about the MSc OT course they offer. Women in Social Enterprise: Free course

The Friends Centre in Brighton is running a free accredited course designed to help women set up a social enterprise. The course runs for four weeks, twice a week from 1st June 2009. Funding for childcare is available. To find out more there is a launch event at The Werks, 45 Church Road, Hove, 10.00am – 12.30pm on 21st May. Volunteering Info Day

The International Voluntary Service is running an information day in London, on 9th May 2009 from 10am - 4pm. There will be speakers, information on projects being run and volunteers can answer questions on their own experiences of volunteering. More information can be found online.

Study in New Zealand

Commonwealth Scholarships for Postgraduate study are available for UK citizens wishing to study a Masters or PhD in New Zealand. The awards are for eight universities and are for courses starting in February 2010. The closing date is 12th May 2009. Please see the CSCUK website for more information and details on how to apply.

Cactus TEFL Taster Day

For those interested in TEFL as a career Cactus are running an evening of activities on 14th May 2009 at Jubilee Library in central Brighton. The event runs from 18:30 and includes information on TEFL jobs, about employment in different parts of the world, how to find jobs and what is expected of you as a TEFL teacher. Tickets cost £5 and can be booked online

Society of Young Publishers at London Bookfair

'Getting Ahead in Publishing' is a seminar held by the Society of Young Publishers on Monday 20th April 2009 at the London Book Fair. It will be especially useful for students and new entrants to publishing and last year's event had a very strong turn out.
